Conquest of the Planet of the Apes (1972) là bộ phim thứ tư trong loạt phim Planet of the Apes, tiếp nối câu chuyện từ phần Escape from the Planet of the Apes (1971), Conquest of the Planet of the Apes diễn ra vào năm 1991, khi thế giới đã bị tàn phá bởi một dịch bệnh, dẫn đến sự sụp đổ của nền văn minh nhân loại. Khỉ đã trở thành loài vật chủ yếu được nuôi dưỡng như vật nuôi, trong khi con người trở nên áp bức chúng. Caesar, con trai của Cornelius và Zira, được nuôi dưỡng trong bí mật bởi Armando. Caesar, vốn sở hữu trí tuệ vượt trội, sớm nhận ra rằng khỉ đang bị loài người áp bức và đối xử tàn nhẫn. Được chứng kiến cảnh những con khỉ bị bắt buộc làm việc trong các nhà máy và trở thành nô lệ, Caesar quyết định đứng lên dẫn dắt một cuộc nổi dậy. Những con khỉ, dưới sự lãnh đạo của Caesar, đã chiến đấu để giành lại quyền tự do và lật đổ chế độ áp bức của loài người. Cuộc nổi loạn dẫn đến một cuộc chiến khốc liệt, trong đó Caesar phải đối đầu với chính quyền và những kẻ phản diện.
